How to Gamble on Video Poker
Electronic Poker is a beloved game that is able to be enjoyed in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at home on your PC, using a web account. The game rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player attempting to achieve the highest mixture of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it is much the same as a normal game of poker, without the line of contact with any other players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the player inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and gamblers should now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the bettor has chosen which cards he or she would like to retain, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards will be handed out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.
Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from game to game, so that experienced players are agile enough to choose the most money-making machine each instance.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to double their wins, in which situation another round is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
