Video Poker is a popular game that is able to be played in casinos all over the globe, or in your house on your personal computer, through a web account. The game rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the greatest assemblage of cards as you can in order to acquire cash. On this account it is much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the involvement with other players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the play button. A five card hand will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and gamblers should now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.

After the bettor has selected which cards he or she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be dealt if desired. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Normally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that experienced players are able to pick the most beneficial machine every time.

As soon as the initial round has played out, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the gambler a chance to increase their wins, in which situation another hand is played. There are also variations among individual machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
