Video Poker is a beloved game that can be wagered on in casinos around the globe, or alternatively at your house on your home computer, using a web account. The rules are absolutely simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the best mixture of cards possible in order to win cash. On this account it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, apart from the interaction with other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "given out" on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the enthusiast has selected which cards she wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can change from machine to machine, so that experienced players are able to pick the most beneficial machine every time.

As soon as the first round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that has been won. Further, some versions of the game allow the gambler a chance to increase their wins, in which case a further hand is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
